The OH WOW science museum,
Butler Art Institute, Museum of Science
and Technology and Youngstown State
University were at the building to
educate the students. The students
moved through hands on activities that
enriched the students’ lives. We are
working on having them return for next
year.
As summer is coming to a close, the
Middle School staff has been preparing
for an excellent school year. There are
no staffing changes and they are
striving for academic excellence. They
know they are “Standing in the Presence
of Greatness.”
There is no change to our school
day. The busses will continue to drop
off the middle school first and the doors
will open at 8:20 a.m. Breakfast will be
served from 8:20 a.m. until 8:35 a.m.
and classes will begin at 8:38 a.m. The
day will end at 3:20 p.m.. For the
safety of the students, all car riders and
walkers need to enter and exit on the
west side of the building using the pick-
up circle. If your child is changing the
normal routine of riding a bus or getting
picked, up a signed note is needed in
the office that day.
Students who are absent from
school, a written note with
parent/guardian signature and a phone
call are required. A note is also required
if your student is tardy or being picked
up early. The dress code has not
changed. Please pay special attention
to the dress code in the student
handbook that your child will receive on
the first day of school. The planner will
have the student handbook and a daily
calendar for the student to write down
assignments for class. Please read the
handbook and make sure your child is
utilizing the calendar.
As we move into the 2016-2017 school
year I would like to thank the parents,
students, teachers, board members, the
MVP Club, and the community for the
wonderful school year. I know that the
year could not have been a success
without everyone’s support and hard
work. I am looking forward to working
with everyone this year to make this
school year even better than the last
one.
Enjoy the remaining days of
summer. Please read a good book with
your children and help prepare them for
the
school year. The middle school staff
will look forward to seeing everyone on
Monday, August 22 at open house from
