The Technology Department just did a review of the “technical” issues with the connection to Side Kick Planner at several locations throughout the school district. Here are our findings:
- If you are experiencing and issue where it is asking for an Office 2000 Disk when you connect and try to login (or navigate through) the SideKickPlanner.com system, please enter a “Technology” Work Order so the tech office can come and remove a ghost pending installation that for some reason are on some of these machines. We really don’t know how this got on the machines; however, we now know how to fix the issue.
- Printing Errors – When you try to print out lesson plans. Those who were getting something along the lines of “File corrupted” or “Not able to print at this time”. We have found that Adobe Acrobat 9 is needed (or Adobe is actually corrupted). Again, please enter a Technology Work Order and we will get this resolved for you.
- Session Time Out – Please be sure to save your information before you walk away from the machine. SIMS (which is developed here) does not have session time-out built into it since it is mostly operated within a Local Area Network environment. I know, I’m using technical terms, but the issue is this. SideKickPlanner.com is not written by the district (or the technology office) and is a website that is out on the Internet. The Session Time out is a security feature that you find on most sites of this nature and we have no control over this. Again, just please be sure to save your lesson plans before you walk away from the machine.
- There are some that are reporting issues that they can print the calendar view, but not the list view. We are actually going to refer this one over to SideKickPlanner.com, since everything else seems to be operational.
