Disabling Junk Mail in Outlook

I have received some complaints, that there is some e-mail going into the junk mail filter in Outlook which is really not junk mail. Outlook has a built in filtering system that will look at e-mail messages and send them to a Junk mail folder if they fit into several rules that are outlined by Microsoft. One of these rules is the frequency of the mail you are getting… for example, daily announcements from the office.

At the district, we really do not need this feature of Outlook. Our mail is filtered already by NEOMIN’s Precise Mail filter, and the Outlook “Junk Mail” filter is really redundant. The following procedure will help you in disabling the Outlook “Junk Mail” filter.

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. From the Tools menu choose Options.
  3. Click the Junk E-mail button.
  4. On the Options tab, choose the No Automatic Filtering radio button.
  5. Click the Blocked Senders tab.
  6. Note: You need to remove any addresses listed here. If none are listed, go to Step 7.
  7. Click on the 1st address in the list. If needed, scroll to the end of the list. Hold down the Shift key and click on the last address. This should highlight all the addresses. Click Remove. The list of Blocked Senders should now be empty.
  8. Click OK. Click OK.
  9. Quit and re-open Outlook.
