Creating and Copying Thumb Drive Images

When setting up the new network, we found that using thumb drives to install the .iso files for Windows 10 is the quickest so far, until we get networking imaging working correctly.  The problem is, we need multiple thumb drives to do a lab, so this utility will allow you to create images of a thumb drive and use that to install the software.

  1. The first thing you want to do is create your thumb drive using the Rufus software and test it out.   See if it works correctly, is bootable, etc.
  2. Once you have tested it, download and use ImageUSB from:   http://www.osforensics.com/tools/write-usb-images.html and this will allow you to create an image of the thumb drive to a folder on your computer or network share.
  3. You can then use the ImageUSB software to make multiple copies of the thumb drive image.
