    We Remember

2,977 people, not just people; husbands, wives, children, mothers, fathers, heroes, died that day. September 11th, 2001, a day that will forever be in American history. The day that the United States was attacked, the day that ruined so many lives, the day that tore families apart, the day that broke the nation’s heart. This is a day of grief, but it is also the day that brought neighbors together, the day that people tore down their fences, the day that families extended their dinner table for those in need, and the day that showed the United States the importance of who we are.

We were strong. We did not back down, we stood up. We gave the help we needed through family and friends, through neighbors and neighborhoods, through strangers. From one stranger to another, we learned each other’s names and helped those in need. After the attack on the United States on September 11th, 2001, the nation responded with resolve. Today, we remember.
