Classroom Expectations

Expected Behavior

The nature of this program mandates a strict discipline procedure. Any student not adhering to the following guidelines may be immediately dismissed from the class with no exceptions.

Students should always:

  • Speak to staff and students in a respectable manner
  • Ask the instructor(s) before opening a computer or beginning work on network equipment
  • Expectations
  • Be where they are supposed to be, doing what they are assigned to be doing
  • Adhere to the school computer procedures as posted in all computer labs and in the student handbook
  • Adhere very closely to the Acceptable Use Policy and all school rules
  • Academic Eligibility: Students must maintain a “C” or better in all subjects in order to advance to the next level in the Technical Assistant program.

Absenteeism and Assignment Make-up

  • Attendance will be taken every day
  • All assigments are due on the dates they are assigned to be done.
  • Students know in advance when work is to be turned in.
  • In accordance with the district's policy, if a student is absent the day the assignment is due, they have the number of days they were absent to make-up their work.
  • If a student misses school for any type of discplinary reason, they cannot make-up their work.
  • If a student turns in an assignment late, the assigment will be deducted 10% for each day it is late
  • No assignment will be accepted more than 10 days late

Responsibilities and Accountability

This program was designed to teach students to be responsible and accountable for their own actions. Some of the expectations of the course may appear to be difficult, yet every effort will be made to assist the students in achieving the goals of the course.
