Technology is always changing. Something new, something improved, newer versions of drivers and/or software is available… technology changes every minute.

How does a great technician keep-up with all of these changes?

Well, the Internet has made it so much easier than in the past. There are web sites that post articles all the time about new things in technology, and technicians should set aside time every day to review these articles.

Another way might be to join organizations relating to technology. User groups or organizations sometimes discuss changes in depth or even have presenters from technology companies.

Also, you could attend seminars on different topics. If your company will pay for your training, take advantage of it.

Lastly, set personal goals for certifications and go after them. This is one of the best things a technician can pursue.

If you choose to be a computer technician, research and continuous training is a must.
