Conducting yourself in a respective and professional manner is a must for any profession that you enter, but what does this actually mean? Refer to the list below for some examples:
- Even if you feel that the situation you are dealing with is the due to the total ignorance of the client or user, keep that to yourself. Don’t even mention it to another technician, because maybe the client just does not know. Remember you are being paid to fix the problem, not to tell the client they are stupid.
- If you are asked to do something by your boss or even your client, accept it and just do it providing you follow all of the guidelines and ethics of your company.
- NEVER BE NEGATIVE. Even if you are having a bad day, you are always remembered by your personality and attitude; maybe you might brighten someone else’s day if you have a smile on “your” face.
- Don’t be late. Not to work, not to a scheduled appointment; NEVER. There may be occasions when you are running late on one job, and have to be at another, but a phone call can take care of that situation. Be sure to make that call.
- Keep one important thing in mind… when you are in public, not only do you represent the organization that you work for, but more importantly you represent yourself.
You won’t last long in any field if you don’t conduct yourself in a professional manner and don’t even consider advancement within the company with an unprofessional attitude.
