On Tuesday, March 17th, the Newton Falls Exempted Village Schools will have two renewal levies on the ballot. These are renewal levies, not new levies. These will not increase your taxes and the school district relies heavily on them. Please vote on Tuesday, March 17th and thank you for your support!

Athletic Booster Club Brick Fundraiser

The Newton Falls Athletic Booster Club is running a Brick Fundraiser. A walkway will be built leading up to the track that will be built with bricks with messages on them from the community. You can order a brick with three lines of text for $85 or six lines of text for $200. Order forms are available in all building offices or go to view the order form you can print, click here.

There will be a meeting after school on Friday, February 21st, in the High School Commons for any boy in grades 9-12 that is interested in playing baseball this season.

Just a reminder, Elementary/Middle School students will be traveling to the High School on Friday, February 21st, to see motivational speaker Elec Simon. The buses will begin leaving promptly at 8:45 AM. We will be returning at approximately 10:15 - 10:30 AM. If your student arrives after the buses have departed, you will need to sign your student in at the Elementary/Middle School and then walk them into the Junior High Office where someone will escort them to the program.

You are invited to the 7th Annual Elementary/Middle School Father/Daughter Dance for all female students in grades K-3. The Princess Ball will be held Friday, February 21st, from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Elementary/Middle School Gym.

Tickets on sale now or at the door, will be $30.00 per couple; $15.00 each additional female student. Please send in payment, with detached stub from the form below, in and envelope. You will receive a receipt within a week, however, tickets will not be sent home until the week of the dance. Professional photography will be available! Photography package information will be sent home with tickets.

Each student is only allowed to bring one male escort; any male over the age of 18 is permitted to be an escort (dad, step-dad, grandpa, uncle, friend, etc.) The dress code is semi-formal; men must wear a collared shirt and absolutely no jeans allowed.

The Newton Falls Athletic Boosters will have a fish fry every Friday from February 28th through April 10th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the VFW in Newton Falls. The cost is $12 per person. The meal includes fried fish, baked fish, French fries, macaroni and cheese, cabbage and noodles, a vegetable and coleslaw. There will be a limit of one dessert per person and they are limited on a first come, first serve basis.

Registration for children entering the Newton Falls Exempted Village School District for the 2020-2021 school year will be held on Monday, March 9th through Friday, March 13th, from 9:00-11:15 AM and 12:00-2:30 PM daily.

You do NOT need an appointment, but please only come during these times. It is not necessary to bring your child at this time. To be eligible for kindergarten, your child must be 5 years of age by September 30, 2020. Upon registering, you will be given an appointment to bring your child to the school in the spring for screening. If there are items you do not have available to bring, please still register your child at this time.

Items to bring with you when registering:

Your child's legal birth certificate
Immunization records (see list below)
Proof of residency (Must be: current utility bill (not cell phone) apartment rental agreement/mortgage payment receipt, or driver's registration (not license)
Child's Social Security Card
Driver's License (for Photo ID - NOT Proof of residency)
Custody papers (if applicable)

The Ohio Department of Health requires that all children entering kindergarten in the state of Ohio shall be immunized as follows:
5 doses Dtap vaccine (unless the fourth dose was administered after the 4th birthday)
3-4 doses Polio vaccine (last dose must be given after the 4th birthday)
2 doses MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella)
3 doses Hepatitis B vaccine
2 doses Varicella vaccine

PLEASE CHECK YOUR CHILD'S IMMUNIZATION RECORD NOW WHICH Will GIVE YOU AMPLE TIME TO COMPLETE THESE REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO REGISTRATION. YOUR CHILD CANNOT START SCHOOL THE FIRST DAY WITHOUT A COMPLETED IMMUNIZATION RECORD.

Seniors, if you haven’t already done so, please order your cap/gown as soon as possible at Jostens.com. If you need more information, there are order packets at the High School Office. Also, your fees need to be paid in full by Friday, May 1st in order to graduate. You are welcome to make payments.

The Middle School Student Council are collecting caps for new school benches. The types of caps they are collecting are as follows:

Small caps from food grade containers and household items
Snap on butter tub, coffee can, and yogurt lids
Small twist on medicine, drink bottle, and milk caps
Large twist detergent caps
Spout squirt condiment caps
Flip top ketchup caps
They cannot accept any cap with metal pumps or metal spring inside, such as on lotions, fast-food drink caps, and no lid or cap over 8".

The Newton Falls Elementary/Middle School will once again be having their Walk Warm Program through Monday, May 18th from 3:30 - 5:30 PM on the days when the school is open. It is open to all Newton Falls residents. Individuals under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Sign-in is required.

All fees are due for all buildings and payable at this time. Payment may be made by cash, check, or money order made out to Newton Falls Schools. If you’re not sure how much you owe, please check with your respective building office. If you have outstanding fees, it was also printed on report cards and interims. Seniors must have fees paid in full by Friday, May 1st, in order to graduate.

It was a successful day for all of our NFHS music students who participated in the OMEA District 5 Solo and Ensemble Contest at Warren G. Harding High School. Difficulty levels
begin at Class C and get increasingly more difficult through Class B, with Class A being most difficult. Scoring ratings range from 5 to 1 with a 1 being the highest.

In Case Of Emergency

In case of emergencies such as school closings, bus delays or upcoming events, the district will use its computerized telephone notification system to inform parents. It is extremely important that parents verify their emergency telephone numbers with each building secretary. If you have changed telephone numbers or are now using only a cell phone contact to be reached please update your information with the building secretary.
